What are Banner Ads?

Mobile banner ads are rectangular ad units that appear to users, usually at the top and/or bottom of their screens, while they engage with specific apps on their mobile devices. These kinds of ads can be static, animated, or video, and may refresh automatically.

Mobile banner ads are the oldest type of mobile ad. Despite this fact, banner ads are still highly popular in 2022, thanks to their ease of use and general effectiveness.

Banner Ad Sizes

There are a few different banner ad sizes you need to be aware of:

  • Standard Banners (320 x 50)
  • Large Banners (320 x 90)
  • Medium Rectangular Banners (300 x 250)
  • Smart Banners (320 x 50 or 728 x 90)

How to Use Banner Ads

To succeed with mobile banner ads, make sure they’re eye-catching. That way your target audience notices them. Pay special attention to your ad’s placement, too. Ads placed at the top and bottom of user screens are less noticeable but also less intrusive than ads placed in the middle of users’ screen. Experiment to discover which ad placement works best for you.
