What is an Ad Network?

One way to think of ad networks is as the middlemen between advertisers and publishers.

Advertisers submit their ads to a specific ad network. The ad network then publishes said ads on various platforms, from which they’ve previously bought inventory.

Most ad networks offer a variety of different ad types to advertisers, including banner and native ads. Some networks, however, specialize in certain ad types, such as video ads.

To access an ad network and sell advertising space, app developers must integrate a software development kit, better known as an SDK.

Benefits of Ad Networks

Ad networks are beneficial to both advertisers and publishers, giving the former an easy way to purchase ad space and promote products, and the latter the ability to drive additional revenue, while reducing the hassle of dealing directly with advertisers.
